This LG “Tromm” Steam washer and dryer is the biggest waste of $2,400 I have ever made. Where shall I start? the dryer has had to be repaired twice, first for a faulty gas valve (a common problem with this dryer according to the repair person). Cost: $300. Second repair (2 months later): Drive belt, $190 with labor. So now I’ve spent $490 on repairs. LG service is terrible. They couldn’t even figure out how to take apart their own product, or diagose it. The washer hasn’t had to be repaired, but it is awful also It vibrates so much it sounds like a helicopter is over our house (no kidding). I’ve tried all of the vibration reduction kits, etc. NO improvement. It also smells like mildew, even after leaving the door open all the time and using the cleaning cycle. It also LEAKS on to the floor randomly. Junk.

I own(ed) an LG WM2016CW. The bearings went out after < 2 years, and the cost to fix is about the same as a new one. I am shopping Craigslist this time.

Yep, LG sevice is horrible. The so-called Senior Service Technician does not even know what a pulsator is and insisted that it should not be moving-reason he was called in for. Without the pulsator moving, clothes cannot be washed properly and comes out with lots of detergent stuck in between. Upon explaining to him the function of the pulsator, he got irritated and started to be aggressive.

Feedback to the so-called office Service Manager or Supervisor produces a very defensive response. She simply went all out to shield him with all sorts of stupid reasons-another reflection of her limited knowledge of her own product.

Btw, I reside in one of the most developed South-East Asian countries, so the level of service available from such an “established” brand is honestly quite appalling.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A WOODEN FLOOR…
I bought a F1222TD, and I have to say the noise & vibration are completely unacceptable. I have contacted support and they have went through various things but to no avail. I have now had the engineer in – he didn’t come first time round which was annoying, but second time he came round he said “Yes you’re right it is very noisy and bounces around, it’s because it’s on a wooden floor”. I thought this was crazy, I mean how many houses in the UK only have a concrete floor? LG refuse to accept “not fit for purpose” as they say that in the manual it stipulates “Wooden floors are particularly susceptible to vibration”. Fit rubber feet and move it into the corner of the room. I have the rubber feet, which are screwed to the floor as it tends to walk around when in operations. I can’t get it any further into the wall. Mind you the banging it makes when working will probably mean it’ll fall though the floor soon.

I have to say none of this was pointed out when I purchased the machine, If I had of know I wouldn’t have bought the thing. Now I’ve got a new machine that’s useless, so LG got their money and I got a poor product. And I have to mention it’s claimed that it’s very quiet on the website, but the decibels are only measured when nothing is in the machine.

Be warned – don’t believe everything your read about these machines.

My LG washer had the pump go 1 week after the 3 year warrantee period. At 5 years and 2 months the drive shaft broke. Estimated cost of repair was $650. The thing vibrated terribly and molded easily. I believe it was designed to fail at 3 and 5 years. Under no circumstances will I purchase anything made by these scoundrels again. My brand new Miele pair is so much heavier, quieter and more solid in every way I would recomend them. (10 year warantee is especially attractive)

    Hi guys,

I just bought a service manual for my LCD TV LG 32LH200C-TA from: http://www.manualsparadise.com
They delivered in less than 20 minutes, the price was fair, and their service was really good compared to other sites where I have bought manuals in the past. And, they seem to have a huge collection of manuals!
