2. You will again see a cap securing the agitator. By just exerting a little pressure, you can pull off the cap. If you can’t do it, pry it loose using a screwdriver with a flathead. Insert the flathead between the agitator and the cap and pry the cap loose.
3. Put your hands on the handle of the cap found in the middle part of the agitator. You can feel a ring rubber in there. Pull this up too. You may need to twist it back and forth to loosen it up.
4. Carefully disconnect the bolt that attaches the agitator to the shaft. Using a socket wrench can help you out.
5. Once the bolt is removed, you can now pry the Kenmore agitator loose. Use both your hands to pull it out of the tub.
6. Put the loose agitator on your clean floor. If you want to unlock the top of the agitator from its bottom, you should secure the outside edge of the bottom part of the agitator using your feet. Use both hands to twist the top section of the Kenmore agitator. It will unlock on its own when you exert pressure.
