This washer buying guide will walk you through the process of selecting, sorting and pointing out the washer that will suit your laundry preferences well. There are different types of washers for different types of people.

Washer Buying Guide For Solo Apartment/Condo/Dorm Dwellers and RV Users

One of the things that ought to be considered by people living in apartments, condominiums dorms, RVs and all other living areas with comparatively small spaces is the size of the machine. Keep in mind that the size is not always directly proportional to the capacity of the machine. There are big washing machines with relatively small laundering capacity. There are also those small and compact washers that can wash heaps of laundry loads. It ultimately depends on the brand of washer.

When buying, you have to consider your living condition first. Check the apartment for the amenities needed to hook up a new washer. Do you have a laundry area that can be hooked to the plumbing of the apartment. If not, you can always have a sink installed and have the washer flush out water from there. You should also have an electrical and a water outlet and source nearby so you can hook up your washer with ease. In addition to that, you have to consider your clothes drying needs. Those living in small apartments should consider getting a washer with an integrated ventless dryer. This is easier to install because you don’t have to hook up a vent for the dryer.

The same goes for condominium and dorm dwellers. Make sure you have all your resources at the ready. Furthermore, it is essential that you check the features of the machine. Because you will be living in a space wherein your will share the floor with other dorm or condo dwellers, you will have to think about the noise level of the washer. It should not be prone to vibrations or similar noisy issues so as not to disturb your neighbours. Search for a washer with a good suspension system.

RV users have to think about the energy and the water consumed by the machine. You might want to search for a very efficient washer. Since you have limited water and power source, the machine you should buy ought to be efficient. Check out the efficient features of the machines you are thinking of buying or check the annual energy and water consumption. Compare efficiency so you can choose the one that will work better for you.

This washer buying guide will also ask you to check the size you want to buy. The size of the washer should depend on how many kilograms of clothes you wash. It is more ideal to wash by batches instead of just buying a big machine that can accommodate all your garments. However, a bigger washer is more ideal for those who have a big family.

Also think about portability. If you frequently move homes or you are always on the road, you would want your washer to be more portable so it can be transported with ease. Look for those with casters hooked up at the bottom of the machine.

Washer Buying Guide – How To Check The Washer For Its Durability

A durable washer is what you should look for. But how exactly can you find a durable washer? Look at the over-all functions and parts. Check the exterior if the machine seems durable. You should be afraid of knocking something off. Make sure the hoses and the pipes connect sturdily and that the washer door will not get damaged easily.

Also look for special features that can prolong its life. A good suspension system or a direct drive motor system should clue you up as to the durability of the washer. These features will prevent the parts of the washer from moving and rattling needlessly. Because of that, they are less likely to wear out.

Choose a machine made from more durable drum materials. Make sure it has been incorporated with rust-proof materials. Because your washer is always exposed to moisture and the hard minerals in the water, it might be prone to rusting.

Washer Buying Guide – Choose A Machine That Is Easy To Maintain

Many people actually forget to consider maintenance and repair when they are buying. Don’t immediately get a machine with a lot of nifty features and functions. Those special and extra features might make the washer prone to damages. If you want a machine that is easier to maintain and repair in the future, stick to those simpler washers with just the right amount of features.

Cleaning also has got something to do with maintaining. Avoid those washers with a bad reputation when it comes to the development of molds. The washer should be quite resistant to molds formation. The washer should also be easier to clean. You should be able to clean the compartments and the filters without a hitch.

If you are looking for the best washer, clothes washer reviews should help you out. I would say that you should refrain from being 100% influenced by those reviews. However, the reviews should open your eyes to the worst washing machines in the market so you can steer clear from them.

There is a plethora of clothes washer reviews out there. They are either positive or negative reviews. Let us start with some of the most widely talked about washer brands:

LG Washing Machine

In the washing machine reviews for LG, some of the reported good points of those washers are the efficiency of the washer and its ability to clean. LG made sure that their washers have complied with the energy efficiency standards set by the government and more. They have added sensor features that will ensure that the machine will work better in preventing excessive use of energy and water.

LG is also famous for their washing machines’ direct drive motor technology. Although there are also other modern brands that have incorporated direct drive motor technology to their washers, LG is the trendsetter. This technology allows the washer to work longer. Because of this motor system, the parts of the machine will not get worn out quickly.

Now let’s move on to the downside of LG washing machine. In clothes washer reviews, many people commented on some of their washers that are prone to molds formation. Some have problems with the appearance of molds in some of their washers. Molds tend to appear in washers that fail to eliminate water completely. When the excess water is cooped up inside, molds tend to appear.

LG has some of the most expensive washers. This is most likely because LG has some of the most advanced features. With more features integrated in washing machines, they become more expensive.

Whirlpool Washing Machines

We can say that Whirlpool is the biggest manufacturer of laundry appliances. They have bought the production and distribution rights of the washers Jenn Air, Kenmore and Maytag.

Whirlpool also has their own product line up of washers. They take pride in their efficient washers that can rival that of the efficiency of LG washers. Their washers have also been equipped with intelligent features that will make sure that the machine will use up less water and energy.

However, in the past few years, a lot of Whirlpool washers have been the subject of disdain by many people. It would seem like many of their washers break down easily. Even some of their modern and seemingly reliable washers break down easily.

Clothes washer reviews for Whirlpool also said Whirlpool doesn’t have a good customer service as evident in the lawsuits filed by many irate consumers. But there are also a lot of satisfied consumers. They like Whirlpool washers’ ability to make clothes cleaner and fresher.

Samsung Washing Machines

Samsung washers are some of those washers with a surprisingly good reputation and good clothes washer reviews. Their washers have also received their fair share of complaints. However, the bad reviews are just a bit limited.

Samsung made their washing machines more durable. They made their Samsung washer drum more resistant to common wear and tear. They are also a force to reckon with when it comes to cleaning clothes. The machine has been equipped with features that can get rid of common stains, dirt and grime.

Maytag Washing Machines

Clothes washer reviews deem Maytag, or the old Maytag series, the most durable of washers. That was until they have created their front loaders. Their front loaders are a little less spectacular. Unlike their top loaders that have been passed down from generation to generation, hence their reputation of durable washers, their front loaders are quite prone to damages.

Maytag washer front loads tend to have broken pump and belt. Leaky washers, noisy washers and a washing machine that does not do its job in cleaning are just some of the complaints of people.

Clothes Washer Reviews – How To Choose The Best Washing Machine

We checked out what other people are saying and listed the following as some of their tips on how to buy a good washing machine:

1. Do not buy an extended warranty unless you are sure that the appliance store you are buying it from can really offer you good services. This is a lesson learned the hard way by many consumers.

Although buying an extended warranty can secure your purchase, there are stores that do not deal with their customers well. They do not attend to the complaints of their customers saying that their problem should be settled with the manufacturing company of the machines. However, the store should still give good services if you bought an extended warranty from them.

2. Make sure you know what is included in the warranty. Does it come with repairs or replacements of parts? If it breaks down, are they going to replace the machine or do they only have to replace a few parts of it? These are the things that you have to consider before buying.

3. Make sure your washer comes with shipping bolts. Have the delivery guy remove the shipping bolts once it has been delivered or you can remove it yourself and keep it. This way, you will know how to put the shipping bolts back on just in case you need to transport your washer.

4. Learn a thing or two about the problems that can arise when you buy the machine. Each washer has specific problems. Your washer might be prone to code errors. Find out what those code errors mean so you can easily address them or anticipate them in the future. This way, you can also ask the sales representative what needs to be done in case those problems arise.

5. Compare price. Compare in terms of features, size and efficiency. This way, you can decide which washing machine is more superior. Furthermore, it helps you find out if the washer is worth buying or if you should invest in other brands instead.

Front load washer smell can emerge easily. One minute your washer smells fine and fresh and the next minute, it smells like it has been infested by molds and mildew. Because it uses water all the time, the parts can turn moist. This will beckon the appearance of molds. Furthermore, excess detergent can cling to the walls of your washer drum. Detergent suds can mix with bacteria and germs and cause a bad washer odor.

You can control front load washer smell. Here are some treatments that you can use:

1. Sprinkle baking soda all over the interior of the machine. Make sure you also place a bit of the baking soda in the detergent, bleach and fabric conditioner compartments. Also add a bit of it on the rubber gasket of the front load door. Leave the baking soda there to diffuse unwanted odor for about two hours.

After the allotted time, turn the washer on and rinse the baking soda using the hot water cycle of the machine. Do not use the cold water cycle as this might to work well in dissolving the granules of the baking soda.

You can also try filling up the washer with hot water. Add half a bag of the baking soda. Let the machine dissolve the baking soda for a few minutes. Pause the cycle. Leave it there for about 15 minutes so the baking soda can get rid of the odor. Resume the cycle after 15 minutes.

2. Distilled white vinegar is another remedy that will help solve front load washer smell problems. It also works well in dissolving molds, mildew and hard minerals. Fill up the washer with cold or warm water. Add one to two cups of distilled white vinegar to the mixture. Pause the cycle for about 15 minutes. Resume the cycle after the allotted time. Allow the machine to dispel water.

After the vinegar cycle, run another empty water cycle to rinse out the remaining vinegar smell. Let it finish running. Dry the interior of the machine after the cycle.

3. If you don’t like using white vinegar, you can substitute it with citrus cleaners. Lemon juice should work well. Squeeze up to one cup of lemon juice. Run an empty cold water cycle and add one cup of lemon juice. Let the washer work for a few minutes before hitting the pause button. Resume the cycle after 15 minutes. Allow the machine to drain completely.

You can also try slicing one lemon into wedges. Remove the seeds of the lemon and rub the pulp of the lemon wedges on the walls of the washer drum. Also rub lemon juice on the rubber gasket and on the walls of the detergent compartment. Leave it there for about 15 minutes. After the allotted time, run an empty water cycle to rinse out the lemon juice.

How To Avoid Front Load Washer Smell

If your front load washing machine is quite prone to moldy odor, make sure you try the following tips:

1. Lessen your use of the detergent powder. If possible, switch to liquid detergent. They dissolve better. There are detergent brands with particles that do not dissolve easily. Choose high-quality detergent brands that can work better in high efficiency front loaders. Make sure you use just a small amount of the detergent. In most front load washing machines, a little bit of detergent can go a long way.

2. After the cleaning cycle, allow the machine to dry completely. Use a clean dish rag to wipe the moist areas inside and outside the washer. Also leave the front load door open to allow air to circulate inside the machine and dry the interior of the washer further. Don’t forget to wipe the rubber gasket and the washer hose.

3. After the cleaning cycle, immediately hang your clothes to dry immediately. Many people tend to forget that their moist clothes are in the washer. Molds only need a few hours to grow. Your clothes can smell moldy and musty if you leave them in the washer for a prolonged period of time.

4. Try to clean your washer periodically. If you have been using full laundry cycles lately, the machine could be dirty and grimy already from all the washing it has been doing. You can try using the vinegar technique to effectively clean the machine.

5. Replace the water filter or change it. Dirt, molds and hard minerals can accumulate inside.

You don’t have to deal with front load washer smell problems all the time. With these simple tips, you can keep your washer fresh and clean all the time.

You can’t just call the repair man every time washer and dryer repair is needed. Repairmen usually charge expensively over trivial repairs and maintenance. You can actually save a lot of money by learning a few repair tricks here and there.

What You Need To Do Before Repairing

Do not just immediately get the screw driver and start opening up your washer. You need to do a couple of things first:

1. If you just used the washer, do not open it up first. Unplug it and let it rest for a few minutes. Some washers still run electricity even after unplugging it. You can still get electrocuted if you immediately open up the motor or the circuit part of the machine.

2. Prepare your fixing tools. You should have all the things you need at the ready. Make sure you also have an empty bucket and a few towels nearby to catch excess water when dealing removing water hoses.

3. Clean the area around you. Wipe pools of water on the floor. You might slip when you accidentally step on a puddle on the floor. Also get a few rugs and place them on the floor around the washer. Those rugs will catch the water that will leak from the washer.

4. Don a pair of gloves. This will protect your hands from dirt, grime and even shocks.

5. Do not immediately open up the washer if you haven’t diagnosed the problem yet. You should get a rough idea on the probable causes of the washer malfunction.

Washer And Dryer Repair Tips For Common Washer And Dryer Problems

1. Washer Does Not Light Up And Does Not Function At All

The problem could be the power source. You should check out the power outlet if it is working. Try plugging a working appliance to the outlet and see if it is working. If the outlet is working, the problem is in the internal functions of the machine. Usually, this is connected to the circuit of the washer. In such cases, you have to call a repairman to do the job.

2. The Washer Lights Up But It Does Not Switch To The Washing Stage After Closing The Drum Door

If the machine cannot proceed to the washing stage, there could be something wrong with the door switch. These appliances have door switches that trigger the next cycle. If the door switch got stuck in the open switch, it will not work. You should replace the door switch with a new one.

The problem could also be in the water source. Washing machines have to fill up with water before transitioning to the washing stage. If something is blocking the flow of water, it will not work properly. Try checking the water filter. If it has already collected a lot of debris, you would want to clean the debris up. The water filter is found inside the water hose connected at the back part of your washer. Make sure nothing is blocking the detergent compartment as well. For most washers, the water has to flow to the detergent compartment first. But if soap suds have accumulated, it can block the flow of water. Clean the detergent compartment as well.

3. The washer and dryer produce a moldy smell all the time

Washer and dryer repair tips require you to clean your laundry appliances regularly to avoid the build up of molds. But certain brands of washers and dryers such as those front load appliances are more prone to molds formation. Molds tend to develop in moist places. That being said, you have to keep your washer and dryer dry after using them.

One of the best washer and dryer repair tips for moldy washer is the use of vinegar. Run an empty water cycle and add one or two cups of white vinegar. It can help loosen up molds so that the machine can easily wash it off.

4. Water is leaking from the bottom of the machine

This can be caused by a malfunction in the pump of the machine. Try replacing the pump with a new one. You can also open up the back portion of the washer and check the pump. Find out if something is clogging it such as molds and hardened minerals. Get rid of hardened debris using vinegar solution.

5. The dryer is not heating up

Check the thermal unit of the dryer. If it is locked in the closed function, it will not heat up. You might need to have this replaced. But before doing that, you should clean the lint trap, the exhaust fan and the vent hose of the machine first. Washer and dryer repair methods deem it necessary to get rid of accumulated lint in those areas of the dryer as they tend to increase heat inside. This will cause the thermal unit to shut down permanently.

Maintenance is necessary if you don’t want to do washer and dryer repair all the time. Keeping your washing machine and your dryer in pristine condition should not be difficult.

Washer dryer cabinet installation is a no-brainer if you know exactly what you are doing. This is actually a great solution to space constraints. If you are living in an apartment, installing your reliable and hardworking washer and dryer in a cabinet is a good step to a much improved laundry area.

Take this as your winning guide in washer dryer cabinet installation.

Step 1: Adjust the cabinet to the desired height

Adjust the cabinet first to the desired height that you want. If you are using front load washer and dryer, you might want to put the cabinet in an area where you can seamlessly open the door. There should be enough space for you to crouch and put your clothes inside.

You should also consider the design and functionality of the whole wall space. If you need some more space for storing blankets and other stuffs, adjust the cabinet where you want to put your washer and dryer to make the flow of the whole space fluid.

Consider putting the cabinet at a low level even if you are using front load washing machines. If you need to transfer it or move it around, you won’t have a difficult time carrying it.

Step 2: Put In The Cabinet

Once you have already pictured the right place for your cabinet, mark it on your wall. Do the necessary measurements—make sure you still allot a bit of space for your washing machine to breathe. Do not make the cabinet exactly in the dimension of your washer and dryer.

Step 3: Do The Carpentry

Get a laser level and pencil in a line with the same width as the cabinet you want to put in. Now you can screw the wood under the line to keep the cabinet in the right level.

Step 4: Get a Stud Finder

Get yourself a stud finder and look for the studs and use this as your guide in placing the cabinet. Now place the cabinet minus the doors. Use the studs as your guide in where you can drill it.

Step 5: Make sure everything is sturdy

Make sure everything is screwed tightly and that nothing will come loose once you put in your washer and dryer. After double checking, you can now put the doors. Screw the hinges together. Place your washer and dryer and you have now installed it perfectly.

If you are buying a cabinet that you need to assemble yourself, the manual actually tells you what to do. There is also a picture diagram that can tell you which screw goes where so you will not be lost. If you have trouble doing this, it is better to ask the help of a family member so the both of you can put your heads together in this project.

Washer dryer cabinet installation should be a breeze if you closely follow the instructions presented. Of course, you also have to consider the electrical outlets so that your washing machine can operate flawlessly.

There is no denying the fact that washer and dryer appliances help us big time in our clothes washing chore. If it is not for these geniuses of appliances, we would be spending a day of every week just doing our laundry manually. Not only is it time consuming, but it is also tiring.

If you are buying washer and dryer appliances, are you clued up on how they are supposed to consume electricity? Do you know how many watts they should consume? These are the things you should actually consider before purchasing.

The good news is, most of the washers and dryers we are offered today are energy efficient. If you see a label that says “Energy-Star qualified”, then you can be assured that it does not gobble up too much on energy making it more environment and budget-friendly.

You can actually bring the yellow EnergyGuide sticker that can be usually procured in your electric company to help you determine how much energy you will be saving in your appliance. If you do not have this EnergyGuide sticker, you can always do the math on your own.

The first thing you need to do is to check the wattage. In most appliances, there is a label at the back or the bottom part of the appliance and the information on the wattage is there. Manufacturing companies usually put the maximum drawn power by that appliance in its watts list.

However, you also need to consider the settings of your washer and dryer. Naturally, if you use hot water cycle or if you use the highest level of the drying cycle, you will consume more energy. The energy consumption also depends on the settings you are using.

If you cannot find the watts on the appliance label, which is sometimes the case, you can refer to the current draw with unit in amperes and just multiply this with how much voltage the appliance uses. For instance, if a washer and dryer use 120 volts, multiply this with the current draw in amperes to get the wattage.

Typically, a clothes washer has wattage from 350 up to 500 and a dryer can consume 1800 watts to 5000 watts depending on the clothes washer and dryer brand you are using.

To compute how much energy you are consuming per wash you can multiply the wattage consumption with the hours you used the appliance in a day and divide the result by 1000. The answer is your daily kilowatt hour consumption rate.

You multiply the daily kilowatt hour consumption rate by the number of days you utilize your washer and dryer for a month and the result is how much your washer and dryer consumes electricity in a month.

If you do not make it a habit to unplug your appliance, the cost can get higher because although your washer and dryer machine is actually turned off, it still consumes energy. This is also the case for other appliances.

If you want lesser energy consumption for your washer and dryer appliances, make sure that it is an Energy Star compliant, it has sensor features in its dryer to cut down on the drying time and you plug your appliance off after using. These little things actually amount to big things.

Where can we buy clothes dryer with a reasonable price range? This should be your question once you have determined the right clothes dryer for you. There are a lot of retailer companies out there that can give you a good price quote.

We looked in on the best places you can buy online and what they can offer you. Here is what we have found out:

Amazon. com

Amazon has a collection of reliable retailers. What is great about Amazon is that they can tell you the lowest priced items. But you can also check out the prices of other sellers who are selling the same clothes dryer.

They will also tell you if the item is brand new or refurbished. This way, you can really have an idea if it is priced reasonably.

Number1Appliance.com

This online company sells only appliances. They have been in this business since 1951, with a physical store, of course since online shopping technology is still nonexistent back then. What is great about this company is that they give free nationwide delivery with a just a few rules that can be read in their official website.

This company is so certain that their appliances are the lowest-priced because they offer a price match guarantee. With this offer, if you can find any other retailer with a lower price than what they are offering, they will match it and give it to you in that price.

Homeeverything.com

This store offers any appliance that you need at home. Depending on the clothes dryer you are buying, they can offer you free shipping with zero sales tax. Like the previous online store, they also offer price match guarantee.

P.C. Richard & Son

This company offers any electronics—from clothes dryers to televisions and computers. They boast of a clean track record that has been in operation since 1909. Consumers have given this store a great 4.5 rating out of 5.

Quality Matters

They boast that they are fully stocked with the appliances that you need. They offer zero sales tax so you can cut back on your clothes dryer cost.

Homedepot.com

Homedepot offers a 10% discount on Maytag appliances. If you are getting a maytag clothes dryer, you are eligible for the 10% sales discount. In addition to that, they also offer free delivery service.

BestBuy

You can order it online and pickup your appliance on the store or have them deliver it to you.

When shopping for clothes dryer online, make sure that you know more about the online company you are trusting. Read more customer testimonial and learn from their experiences. Also get the details on the warranty service offered by the company along with other services. Choose one that can give you the best value for your money.

Buy clothes dryer online but make sure you are still exercising vigilance. In fact, more vigilance is needed because you are not scrutinizing the product up close. Read more reviews to put you at ease as to the product you are choosing.

Buying a washing machine maybe a far more difficult task than you can imagine. Living in constant regret over a pricey washing machine purchase that only gives disappointments is not something we would like to anticipate. So to lessen your chance of ending up with a machine that is not really what you want or a machine that breaks down incessantly, here are the things you need to know.

Have you already considered what type of washing machine to buy? There is the traditional top load washer and there is the more advanced front load washing machine. I imagine you will immediately opt for something more advanced—the front load washing machine.

Front load washing machines are really great because it can save energy and water. It is also environment-friendly because you won’t have to use the dryer for a long time as the spinning cycle already squeezes out moisture from the clothes. But this kind of washing machine does have some downside to it.

Bending to get all your clothes in the tub, for one thing, can be a major hassle especially if you have a separate dryer. This is not really ideal for elderly people.

The washing machine detergent choice can also be a bit limited. In most cases, front loaders use the expensive ones. But if it is any consolation, you do not have to use a lot of detergent. But still, the lack of detergent options is a bit disappointing.

You should also consider the place where you are going to put the machine in. Is it roomy enough to accommodate a large machine or do you need to go for a compact washing machine or a washing machine washer dryer combo or even a stackable washer dryer?

If you are going to choose a front load washing machine, make sure you place it atop a sturdy board or an even flooring to reduce vibration. This can also help lessen the noise created by these machines.

Although there are noise-less washing machines nowadays, they can still create a lot of chugging and agitating if you place it on uneven flooring.

Most washing machine experts also advice consumers to take advantage of extended warranty when buying a washing machine. Some are too confident that their washing machine will not cause headaches but after a few months of use, they begin to have problems. Although a washing machine brand has good ratings or good reviews, it is advisable to get an extended warranty for precautionary measures just in case you end up with a faulty machine with numerous factory defects.

Buying a washing machine is not as easy as one, two, three so you have to know your preferences well. Find out where you can get the most benefits and choose one that can give it to you effectively and efficiently. And do not forget to ask about the warranty or extended warranties.

What is electric washing machine?

An electric or electrical washing machine is a machine designed to clean clothes and other washable items such as blankets, curtains, among others. It primarily uses water and detergent to perform its task.

How it works?

To easily understand the concept, all such washing machines work under the idea of mechanical and thermal energy together with chemical action. Mechanical energy is the movement of the agitator (top loaders) or the tumble in front loading electric washing machines. Thermal energy is the temperature of the water while chemical action is the detergent used to clean the clothes.

How the washing machine works depends on the type, whether top loading or front loading. The concept of an electric washing machine is to plunge the clothes with the water and detergent. This motion helps eliminate the dirt. In a top loading electric washing machine, the wheel or an agitator moves to pull the clothes down in the tub and in some way the clothes go back up and the agitator pulls them down again. On the other hand, in a front loading washing machine, the clothes are made to tumble and plunge into the water numerous times.

Why buy?

In the not so olden times, without the use of modern washing machines, people would rub and flex clothes or use a wood to paddle the clothes in order to remove the stains. Gone are those days with the invention of newer washing machines, all the user had to do is to put the clothes inside the drum, choose the wash settings, pour in water and detergent, and just wait for it to buzz to signal you that it’s done.

Features/ Benefits

The common feature of a modern electric washing machine includes child lock safety while the machine is in use. Another is time indicator to inform the user how long the washing will take. Wash setting are also present in a common modern electric washing machine, whether you customize it or choose automatic to help you know how much water and detergent is needed. You might also want to check on the energy efficiency to avoid over consumption of electricity. Temperature control is also another thing to consider, the more settings, the better for your clothes especially for the delicate ones. Aside from time indicator, it would also be nice to have a digital screen feature as this can inform you anytime of the settings you have chosen for your clothes.

Popular brand/ models

For the high end users, a popular brand is the UK brand Miele. Miele is one of the pioneers in manufacturing washing machine; they have risen to popularity due to their durability and reliability. For the average consumer, Whirlpool, Maytag and LG are the common players. The price starts at $500 to a little less than a thousand bucks. These top three manufacturers of electric washing machines almost always share the same features, they only differ with the appearance and in style whether top loading or front loading.

If you live in an apartment or small home without a traditional washer and dryer, you have probably had the opportunity to see just how quickly the laundry can pile up. When there is more than you and your spouse in the home, traveling to do laundry at a coin Laundromat or even an apartment washing room can be not only time consuming but expensive. It’s not like the laundry machines at Laundromats are inexpensive, either.

Some of them can cost up to three and five dollars a load, and drying clothes is a whole different thing altogether; many dryers work off of time, and some fabrics take much longer to dry than others. There are so many issues that can come up for those who don’t have a way to wash at home, but these smaller machines can certainly help anyone to solve this problem.

What are Portable Washing Machines?

If you have never heard of portable washers before, it doesn’t mean that you are in the dark. As a matter of fact, this is a trend that is just becoming more and more popular these days—especially in big cities where the primary mode of living is lofts and apartments. Who wants to have to travel just to wash a pair of jeans for work the next day?

This is why portable machines were developed, so that people who had small spaces to work with could still have clean clothes to wear. They do have their downsides, like the fact that only so many clothes can fit into one of these small machines at once, but the convenience of having a portable washing machine is well worth having to wash more loads to get the same amount of clothes clean—especially for women who have been dealing with coin operated laundry machines.

The Bottom Line—the Cost

Depending on what type of portable machine you are looking to get and just how portable you need your machine to be, most of these appliances cost anywhere in the range of $200 to $500 a pop. Of course, those that are toward the top of the cost scale are fitted with all of the knobs and whistles a person could ask for, and they are easier to transport around.

Those who have a higher energy efficiency rating are also going to be a bit more expensive than the average portable washer as well, but it really does vary on the brand and size machine you purchase. Just because you live in a small space or don’t have a traditional hookup should not stop you from being able to wear clean clothes everyday.

If your closet is stuffed to the brim with clothes that need washing and you find yourself having to decide between what is most in need of washing and what isn’t it is time that you did something about it. Looking into a portable washer for your clothes just could save your life, and your wardrobe.
