There are probably fewer modern features that merit bells and whistles, you probably would not miss those features considering the reliability of this machine.

All Good Things Can Last

Despite the good cleaning efforts of Kenmore washer and dryer machines, they can still break down. Before that happens, you should know some of the common problems and what you are going to do when those problems emerge.

1. The machine starts emitting smoke smell and then it won’t turn on at all!

This is probably an electrical problem. But you have to make sure first that the smell is not coming from the plug. Usually after this problem happens, the machine will erratically malfunction. The cycles will be interrupted for no reason at all until the machine finally breaks down and stops functioning at all.

The problem is most likely centered in the timer or the main controller of the machine. It probably burned out or got damaged. You need to have it replaced. 2. Water does not completely drain from the tub

After the washing and drain cycle, water should be completely gone from the drum. But if there is still a bit more water left inside, the machine might not be doing a great job of draining it out. This can be caused by a clogged drain or a malfunctioning pump.

Unplug your Kenmore washer and dryer and remove the water manually. You can either siphon it or use a bucket to get rid of the excess water. After draining the machine of water, pull off the wall and inspect the pump. If it is not working properly, it will regurgitate water back to the drum. 3. The machine moves around too much

Place it on a sturdy platform. You can even place rubber stoppers at the bottom of the Kenmore washer and dryer to stop it from moving around. This will help if your laundry area has smooth flooring.
